Review Format:

The SAREC Review has presentations on the present performance and upcoming availablity of the SLAC Test Facilities, status reports and request for beam from the existing experiments and presentation of the new proposals.

In general the review presentations are made in a public forum.

HOWEVER the proposers/experimenters have the option to only present to the SAREC Committee and SLAC management. If this is the case please send the request and justification for a closed presentation to the FACET Division Director.

New Proposals:

SLAC encourages new experiments using the SLAC Test Facilities. New proposals should be approximately five pages long and use the provided template.

You can email your proposal as an attachment to  FACET@spacedoclib.slac.stanford.edu .

You will receive a confirmation that your proposal has been received within 24 hours.

If you do not receive this confirmation please contact Naomi Nagahashi, naomi@slac.stanford.edu

New proposals will be reviewed by an internal review committee. They will then be passed onto SAREC and the Principal Investigator invited to present a talk at the User Meeting.

Existing Experiments:

Existing experiments are not required to submit new proposals but may be requested to give presentations at the SAREC Review outlining the results so far and requests for beam time in the upcoming runs. The PIs of existing experiments are contacted by the FACET&TF User Manager if we require a presentation. Please contact the User Manager if there are questions.

Presentations:

Presentation names should be in the form: 2014-SAREC-presentation-pppp-nnnn where "pppp" represent a short proposal title (or experiment number if assigned) and "nnnn" is the name of the proposer. Examples of this naming convention are 2014-SAREC-presentation-E200-Hogan or
2014-SAREC-presentation-PHASER-Loo.

If the presentations are less than the allowed email attachment limit (~10MB), they can be emailed to:
SAREC14@spacedoclib.slac.stanford.edu
(The subject line for the email MUST be September-2014-Presentations : clicking on the email link above will automatically fill the subject line correctly).

If the presentations are larger than ~ 10 MB, they can be uploaded directly: UPLOAD SITE  using  "Add Document". You must have a SLAC computer account to do this.

You can email or upload presentations as often as you like providing you keep the exact same file name.

Presentations and proposals will only be accessible to those people necessary for the review process. After the review, we will get permission from the PI before making any material available to the wider User Community on our public website.
