Important News: Changes to Access and Food Service at SLAC

To avoid delays or disruptions to your experiment beam time, review NEW automated gate access requirements and check-in procedures!
REGISTER:  Prior to arrival, all users must register through the user portal to provide (or update) current contact information.
Before your beam time, confirm that your collaborators are on the list of users scheduled and expected for the coming month. Contact URA to add users to your proposal.
Users from sensitive countries must alert the User Research Administration (URA) office in advance if their visits to SLAC may exceed 30 days during a 12-month period (see additional requirements for advance review/approval for users from Cuba, Iran, Sudan or Syria).
Complete on-line safety training BEFORE ARRIVAL at SLAC (log in to SkillSoft with your SLAC ID #; password "slac2005").
* ACCESS:  SLAC has installed RFID proximity card readers at the main entrance off Sand Hill Road as well as at Security Gates 17 and Sector 30. Stop at SLAC Security or the Main Gate to obtain a temporary access card. User ID badges will be issued and re-activated by URA or Security for proximity access for up to 30 days.
CHECK IN:  Prior to entering the experimental area or starting experiments, check in at the URA office in Building 120 (Room 211) or Building 950 (Room 220B) , Monday-Friday from 7 am - 12 noon and 1- 4 pm.
* FOOD SERVICES:  The SLAC Café has been closed for construction of a new Science and User Support Building (SUSB). During construction (2013-2015), temporary food service will be provided by food trucks, 11 am-2 pm in front of SLAC Building 27. See lunch menus and SUSB updates posted online. Discounts are offered at local restaurants: Luttickens, Eric's Gourmet, Portola Kitchen.
LCLS also provides kitchens to aid users in preparing meals during their visits.
Please plan ahead, communicate these updates with members of  your research team, and contact us if you need any assistance. We look forward to your visit to LCLS!
